Feral Hog Facts
- • Feral hogs are present in at least 45 states
- • The feral hog population in Texas is estimated at over 2,000,000
- • Young feral sows can breed as young as 6-8 months of age
- • Feral sows produce approximately 3 litters every 14 months
- • Younger sows produce litters with 4-8 piglets. Older sows may have as many as 10-13 piglets
- • Feral hogs generally form groups or sounders, consisting of up to 30 hogs
